Teen Hebrew Helper
Seeking Hebrew-proficient, Jewish-content-loving, fun, energetic high school students to help out in Hebrew school classrooms. The teen helper will work to support students in small groups or individually with Hebrew and assist teacher in classroom activities. Primary locations in Brooklyn, with additional sites in Queens and Harlem. Pay is $20 per hour.
Assistant Teacher
Seeking Hebrew-proficient, Jewish-content-loving, fun, energetic, organized and punctual people to be Fig Tree Assistant Teachers, up to five days a week (either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and/or Sunday). Primary locations in Brooklyn, with additional sites in Queens and Harlem. This gig is perfect for a college or grad student, artist, freelancer, etc who can commit to 6 - 18 fixed hours per week with potential for additional administrative flex hours. Pay is $30 - $35 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Lead Teacher
We’re seeking bright, caring, and knowledgeable educators who are passionate about making Jewish education fun and meaningful for students of diverse backgrounds. The right candidates will be creative and resourceful, yet will be able to confidently lead a class of excited learners. Hebrew proficiency and a minimum of five years’ teaching experience is required to be considered. University or Master’s-level study in a relevant field (Education, Jewish Education, Judaic Studies, etc.) is preferred but not necessary.
Details: After school (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and Sunday mornings. Primary locations in Brooklyn, with additional sites in Queens and Harlem. Pay starts at $75 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Learning Specialist
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Learning Specialist for our progressive Jewish education program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing personalized learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students, ensuring that each child thrives academically, socially, and spiritually. This role involves close collaboration with our Education Director, teachers and parents to develop inclusive educational strategies that reflect Jewish values and traditions. The Learning Specialist will also conduct assessments, provide one-on-one support, and lead professional development workshops.
Details: The Learning Specialist will work at all of Fig Tree’s class sites on a rotating schedule. Pay starts at $50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
